Hendryx Rare No. 19 3/4 Round Disk 4 inch Single Action Brass Salmon Reel Circa-1893
Hendryx RARE No. 19 3/4 Round Disk 4 inch Single Action Brass Salmon Reel Circa-1893. This is a very rare reel with this being the only one I have ever seen in 40 plus years of collecting. Its a remarkable reel in great condition showing just limited wear on the top front rim with the rest being in extremely good condition. The brass finishes are remarkable for 130 plus years old. Reel spins amazing, straight with no wobble, fast and smooth. The full time clicking action is loud, strong and might favor a right hand wind but its really hard to say. The traditional Hendryx foot is clean of defects, full size and carries the Hendryx name boldly(see photos). Under the foot you will see the size 4 for 4 inch size face. Spool opening width is 1 ½ inch wide. When researching this fine example I could not find any collector or Historian that has seen this reel with some believing its a special order bench reel. Honestly there is no way to know for sure.
