Extremely rare Julius Vom Hofe Size 3 Casting Reel German Silver & Hard Rubber Circa- 1888. I could only find this reel in the 1888 Edward K. Tyron Jr. catalog one year and no where else in the vast Julius Vom Hofe series of reels (See final photo’s for catalog posting) . This rare reel is in fantastic condition especially knowing its 135 years old. Spins fast, smooth, straight and true with a working clicker maybe a little quiet but working. Hard rubber is in good shape showing just a small dent on face but no cracks or breaks. German silver also in good condition showing just some small areas of age as well. Leather case is extremely early good condition and just shuts with no strap. Truly remarkable very early JVH gem.
