Like a majority of his reels this reel comes in fine nickel over brass, this finish shows some brass coming through but is still amazing for 140 years old. Malleson rarely put his name on a reel but the following details clearly explain the Malleson tradition and traits. The unigue clicker & brake buttons with the flip of the arrow head shaped levers the click is engaged or disengaged and function perfectly. The amazing S-shape counter balanced handle and weight, along with the rear bearing cover tells you easily that this is a Malleson example.
