Meisselbach "EXPERT" No. 17 Nickel Silver Fly Reel Circa -1888-1919. This was by far the most popular early size Meisselbach “Expert” at 3 inches across the face and this one is a very clean example. Although this reel was available starting in 1888 this example comes from 1906 and thats explained by the Meisselbach name seen for the first time on the reels face that year. Its extremely smooth spinning, and fast with no wobble. Rear plate side mounted assembly with clicker built inside is strong. Handle grip is original wood finish and spins freely. Foot is catalog correct and clean. This is a very nice example of a fun reel.
