Oakwood Precision Grinding Co. Dearborn, Mi. Trade Reel "Walter H. Schatz" Model G-118 Level Wind Circa-1948

$84.00

Oakwood Precision Grinding Co. Dearborn, Mi. Trade Reel "Walter H. Schatz" Model G-118 Level Wind Circa-1948. This reel comes a small maker in the Dearborn Michigan area who made two different reels “Walter H. Schatz” G-118 and the “Evans” 600. It is believed named after employees that worked at the company but research is tough on this company. Its written that this was just one of a few companies to get Government funding after the war to get people back outside to enjoy activities and fishing. Anyway the Company only lasted a couple years and sold 2 Models as Trade reels. There may be a 3rd Model believed to be called the “ART” but I have not seen this model to date. Its a regular size 80-100 yard level wind that functions perfectly and is made durable, strong and to last. Its in Great condition, smooth, fast and the level wind flies side to side. Clicker functions perfect on command as well. Nice reel from a obscure maker seldom seen.
