Ranger Reel Co. Rockford MI. Gold Metal No. # 77. Level Wind Damaskeened Finish Circa -1947. Ranger Reel company was a product of the Post War effort to put people back to work and help satisfy the returning GI with its hunger of fishing. It was a smart reel with a short life and eventually after a few years sold to Pioneer Tackle Company also from Michigan. This is a new never fished version of a very fine reel. Reel is fast and smooth with a level wind that glides side to side easily on demand. Its finished with extremely rare Damaskeened finish and shows beautiful. The spool is aluminum and also very light weight. The clicker is strong and loud and the ABL brake control on the face functions perfect. The handle and foot both are catalog correct and extremely clean. Box is in very good condition showing limited storage wear and a good looking label and top. A rare combination, and a Interesting reel with a great story to tell….
