Shakespeare "WINNER" Trade Reel Version "THE GEM" in Original Trade Box Circa-1924. This is the original Shakespeare Winner reversible Fly reel in a typical hardware store box from 1924. Look at the decal on top of the box and you will see “Fishing Tackle Manufacturing of America” Decal. This decal was common in the early 1920s and most associated with South Bend Tackle and Shakespeare Reel and Tackle. You would see this in different Hardware stores and sporting goods stores selling there own product lines while using a major manufactures reel or lure. This “Winner” Gun Metal fly reel is new never fished condition. Features double line guides and a very strong clicker. Spins smooth, fast and straight with no wobble. All parts are catalog correct to Shakespeare catalog. The Box is incredible with just some storage wear and a clean label.
