Its smooth , very fast, with a strong loud tail plate clicker that functions perfect. This is a quick Takapart reel with no screws holding it together but with a set of wheels on both sides of the head plate rim that can be unscrewed with a spin of the thumb and finger. Great reel easily taken apart for service or lube. Sensational removable knurled jeweled bearing covers. All parts are catalog correct and a great example of the Winchester Takapart style reel.
